Provision ("the app") is a meal-planning app published by Charles Hartmann. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and who it's shared with.
Your weekly meal plan is generated entirely on your device using an on-device AI model (Google's Gemma, via LiteRT-LM). Your dietary preference, budget, and store selection are used as input to that on-device model. None of this is sent to any server as part of generation.
To price your grocery list, the app sends ingredient names and, if you've entered one, your ZIP code to the following services:
| Service | What's sent | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Kroger Developer API | Ingredient name, ZIP code | Live Kroger-family store pricing |
| Open Prices (Open Food Facts) | Ingredient name | Free, crowdsourced grocery pricing when Kroger pricing isn't available |
Neither service receives your name, email, or any other identifying information from the app.
If you choose a language other than English, recipe text is translated using Google's ML Kit Translate, which downloads a small language model and translates entirely on your device. Recipe text is not sent to a server for translation.
If sync is available and active, your preferences and current meal plan/grocery list are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) under an account identifier (anonymous, email, or Google sign-in, depending on how you access sync). This lets your plan follow you to a new device. You can see your sync status any time in Settings.
The app shows ads via Google AdMob (a banner on the grocery list screen, and an occasional interstitial when you manually regenerate a plan). AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can reset or limit your device's advertising ID in your phone's system settings.
We don't sell your data. We don't share meal plan content, dietary preferences, or grocery lists with data brokers. We don't run our own analytics or tracking beyond what's described above.
Meal plan and grocery data live locally on your device until you delete the app. If sync is active, the corresponding Firestore document can be deleted on request — contact us using the details below.
Provision is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
